Brightening Things Up: Adding Viva Magenta Into Your Office

The color of the year 2023 is Viva Magenta. A bold and exciting shade of red, Viva Magenta is a breath of fresh air and a step forward in bold design. Picked every year by Pantone, the color of the year tells us what colors we’re going to see more of in the design world. With this saturated hue, we know we’ll be seeing deeper and brighter colors to come.

Why Use Viva Magenta In Your Business?

This color was picked by Pantone to merge the natural with the digital world. We’ve all become so accustomed to working remotely, and are craving more time outdoors and less screen time. Pantone describes “The Color of the Year 2023 merges the richness, warmth, and strength of natural matters with the rich, open horizons of the digital world. The result is a shade of red that expands our horizons of authenticity.”

Returning to the office doesn’t just get us out of the house. It gives many of us the social connections we missed the last few years and helps us to merge computer work with people-focused work. This makes Viva Magenta a great choice to add a pop of inspirational color to offices.

Color Psychology Behind Viva Magenta

Red is a seriously powerful color. Red is associated with big emotions, joy, drama, and fun! Using red in interiors is a bold choice that helps us to feel excited, stimulated, and confident. Pantone describes this as “The Color of the Year 2023 speaks to our desire to take on new challenges and try the unconventional while meeting others with compassion.” Red is a highly motivating color that can boost energy and help to get creative juices flowing.

Red doesn’t need to dominate your space. We particularly like the red base of the Basket 011 couch pictured above for a pop of color.

How To Incorporate Viva Magenta Into Your Office

Red can be a great pop of color when used outdoors. We particularly like the use of the Emeco 111 Navy chairs at the Space Asia Hub, in Singapore.

It’s not all about seating! Red makes for a bold wall color choice that allows more subtle seating options like the Hobo couch, pictured above, to shine in comparison.

Red plays well with others. We love the partial red upholstery pictured above on the Openest Chick Poufs. With serene blues and tans, the red is an exciting addition to the room.

Soften up any room with a wall hanging. Not only do the Bandas Space rugs by Gan work as rugs or upholstery, they can also be hung from the wall as a wall hanging. This does double duty – wall hangings can help to absorb sound, and the bright color adds an artistic flair.
